What we did: Inclusivity & accessibility consultancy

Accessibility was key for our client at Brooklyn, and so Dan worked with the design team to ensure that every element of the hotel was accessible – not just for those with a physical or mobility impairment but also anyone with a visual, sensory or cognitive impairment or neurodiversity (such as dyslexia or autism). This includes the layout of furniture as well as the specification, heights, fabrics and finishes, lighting, wayfinding and acoustics.

Hotel Brooklyn was designed as the first ever fully accessible hotel in Manchester, with a focus on creating every space as inclusive and accessible as possible for anybody living with a disability or impairment. Working with Motionspot and the Bespoke Hotels design team, Dan provided inclusive design advice to the project team from inception to completion
